Monica Beck

Executive Function & Neurodiversity  Coach
MSc Psychology | Former Commercial Solicitor | Executive Function & Neurodiversity Specialist

Widely regarded as one of the leading specialists in Executive Function, Neurodiversity and High Performers, Monica Beck brings together deep psychological expertise, personal insight, and over two decades of high-level corporate experience.

Before retraining in psychology, Monica spent 20 years as a Commercial Solicitor, navigating demanding deadlines and complex legal environments. It was here that she saw, first-hand, how profoundly executive function challenges can affect confidence, performance, and emotional well-being. Recognising a genuinely under-served need, Monica made the transition into psychology, devoting her career to empowering individuals to break through the invisible barriers that can limit their potential.

Today, as an internationally sought-after Executive Function & Neurodiversity Coach, Monica helps clients of all ages build the clarity, organisation, and emotional resilience needed to thrive in school, at work, and in everyday life.

Understanding Executive Function

  • Executive function refers to key cognitive skills (working memory, planning, organisation, task initiation, flexible thinking, and self-control) that support everyday life.

  • When these skills are underdeveloped, individuals may struggle with time management, productivity, emotional regulation, academic performance, and workplace success.

  • These challenges are often misunderstood as low motivation or lack of discipline, when in reality they are rooted in cognitive processes that can be strengthened with targeted strategies and support.

How Executive Function Develops

  • Executive function skills develop gradually from early childhood into the mid-20s.

  • Many people only recognise these difficulties later in life, especially in high-pressure corporate or academic settings, where expectations escalate.

  • This delay is often due to the late maturation of the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for executive function.
