What is fear?

It is the name given to a person’s reaction to something that seems dangerous. Individuals fear situations or things that cause them to feel uneasy, unsafe, and uncertain. A break would allow them to gather their thoughts and find a way to approach the situation that triggers them with a clearer mind.

Breathe slowly when panicking

When a person becomes afraid, they tend to breathe very rapidly, which results in them hyperventilating. It can make them even more scared as they would feel dizzy. Some even think they have a heart attack. 

Therefore, a person should instead breathe slowly and count one to ten while doing so. Focusing on breathing will do two things, it will calm down the body’s panic response, and their heart rate and blood pressure levels would come back to normal. The second thing is that it will take their thoughts off the object triggering the fear and provide a necessary distraction. 

Fear does not have to be crippling and should not cause significant damage to a person’s life. Overcoming it is entirely possible with the right help; through life coaching and tactics to work through the state of anxiety.
